A nicely landscaped home has tremendous curb appeal, doesn't it.

Care should be taken as to the type and size of plants and trees that are included in the landscaping theme.  Also, there is a need for close monitoring of the growth rate and amount of plant life used.  We have all seen houses that are overgrown with vine and trees.  However, let the homeowner beware.  Too much plant coverage invites pest, critters and can cause root damage to foundations. In addition, when bushes and trees are growing over windows or are close to and covering major parts of the house they provide a hiding place for a thief, stalker, or anyone with mischief on their mind.

While the homeowners insurance is there to help you recover, financially, from a burglary or other invasion of your premises.  They cannot  pay for the emotional damage done by the invasion of the  privacy and sanctity of your home.

Protect yourself my keeping your landscaping well trimmed and'/or being very selective as to the plant life you use to add to your home's curb appeal.
